In addition to 68 hours of state-mandated training, all CIS officers are required to complete advanced training in operational tactics, advanced first aid, report writing, and numerous other issues critical to the nature of CIS assignments.
Basic CIS officer training exceeds the training requirements of every security company in the United States. |

| All armed CIS officers are required to be certified in the weapon systems they carry. This includes lethal weapon systems such as firearms and less-lethal weapon systems such as OC spray, asp baton, and PR-24.
