Opportunity Announcement Critical Intervention Services is currently seeking qualified candidates for Anti-Terrorism Officer assignments in the Tampa Bay area. Training and certification will be provided for all selected candidates. Current assignments involve the protection of infrastructure-essential facilities in Hillsborough County and Polk County. CIS Anti-Terrorism Officers (ATOs) are Special Services Group* personnel that have been specially selected and trained for employment in situations where terrorism is a critical threat.
ATO Qualifications The following personnel qualification and selection guidelines are used to identify ATO candidates. 1.1 Pre-Employment Screening 1.2 Orientation 1.3 Probationary Period NOTE: Waivers for the probationary period may be granted to newly hired officers if the officer possesses unique skills valuable to the ATO project or if the ATO recruitment quota requires expedition. All waivers for ATO candidate eligibility requirements require the approval of the Vice President of Uniformed Services and the Vice President of Special Projects. 2. The ATO candidate must have no history of serious disciplinary offenses while employed by CIS or previous companies. 3. The ATO candidate must have prior military experience with honorable discharge, or must meet both of the following criteria: A. Must provide documented proof of training in the use of the M16/M4/AR15 weapon system. B. Must possess a specialized skill useful in ATO operations. 4. The ATO candidate must be willing to sign a 1-year employment contract that stipulates hourly bonus, recruitment bonus (if applicable), training requirements, and penalties for early termination or re-assignment. 5. The ATO candidate must be willing to complete all mandatory ATO training, including initial certification training and periodic in-service training. 6. The ATO candidate must be height/weight proportionate and in good physical condition. Preferential Qualifications * Demonstrated observational skills & discretionary judgment capabilities
All ATO candidates must complete a five-part training and testing process to be awarded the certification of CIS Anti-Terrorism Officer. The following paragraphs describe the ATO certification process. • Introduction to Terrorism Upon completion of the two-day class, the candidate must complete a 50-question examination with a score of 80% or higher. The closed-book examination must be supervised in the classroom by an S2 instructor. 2. Search & Response Training (8-Hours) • Building/Facility Search Procedures 3. ATO Standard Operating Procedures (SOP) Orientation 4. FEMA Emergency Response to Terrorism Self-Study Course (8-Hours) 5. Advanced Weapon Qualification (8-Hours) In addition to qualification during daylight, all ATOs are trained in use of the AR15 rifle at night. This training includes tactical target engagement while using night vision goggles in conjunction with the EOTech holographic sight and infrared laser. Once all five certification requirements have been met, the candidate will be awarded the certification of CIS Anti-Terrorism Officer (ATO).
