Additional members of your team may attend the class at the reduced cost of $65.00. Classes generally take place on Sundays throughout the month from 9am to 3pm at the Wyoming Antelope Club

CIS Now Offering Services in Jacksonville
Submitted by: Chief Hector Rodriguez, Chief of Protective Services

As some of you know, we have been looking to enter the Jacksonville market for some time; I am happy to announce that we are now offering CIS services in Jacksonville! To begin, we will be exclusively offering services to existing clients.

We have expanded our operations from Tampa Bay, to the tri county area of Orlando, and now to Jacksonville. It is very exciting times for us and I know several of you have requested our services in this area in the past, but because we did not have a leadership team or operational support, we could not provide the level of service you currently receive.

With our commitment to our employees and our clients, we are moving full steam ahead in this market and can hopefully extend our current partnerships with you in the Jacksonville area. If you have any questions or want us to conduct a free Threat Assessment, please do not hesitate to contact my office at (727) 431-3160.

On behalf of everyone here at CIS, wish you all a great and prosperous year!
Another Meeting? Ugh!
Submitted by: Mark E. Puetz

Anyone who has followed my articles here, even if only slightly, knows I find quotes very powerful. They tend to capture complex ideas in a sentence or two, sparing us a longwinded essay. The best of them go right to the heart of the matter.

How many of us can relate to these?

"If you had to identify, in one word, the reason why the human race has not achieved, and never will achieve, its full potential, that word would be 'meetings."
-- Dave Barry

"I think there needs to be a meeting to set an agenda for more meetings about meetings."
-- Jonah Goldberg

"A meeting is an event at which the minutes are kept and the hours are lost."
-- Joseph Stillwell

"Maybe meetings have become a life-form capable of calling themselves and reproducing via human hosts."
-- Scott Adams, in a 2001 "Dilbert" comicstrip

"Meetings are indispensable when you don't want to do anything."
-- John Kenneth Galbraith

"Purgatory is a meeting that goes off on a tangent. Hell is a meeting that ends there."
--Jack Pitney

"Our meetings are held to discuss many problems which would never arise if we held fewer meetings."
-- Ashleigh Brilliant

Though I suspect these resonate with all of us, we still find ourselves falling victim to meetings, meetings, and more meetings. Are meetings even necessary? Perhaps. When they are necessary, can they be improved? Certainly. I'll explore these ideas in the next few articles. For now, keep in mind the following:

"Rome did not create a great empire by having meetings, they did it by killing all those who opposed them."
-- Quentin Crisp

"I've searched all the parks in all the cities and found no statues of committees."
-- Gilbert K. Chesterton
