Free Concealed Weapons Training
Submitted by Chief Hector Rodriguez, Commander of Uniformed Services

The S2 Institute was created to ensure CIS Officers receive training at a level that would allow Officers to be successful on the properties we service.

CIS is pleased to sponsor our clients through FREE Concealed Weapons Classes at S2 Institute for up to two members of your management team and/or staff. This Includes HOA Board Members. Additional members of your team may attend the class at the reduced cost of $65.00. Classes generally take place on Sundays throughout the month from 9am to 3pm at the Wyoming Antelope Club.

If you are interested in attending, please email my assistant, Kim, with your full name and the date which you would like to attend. Her email address is:

Summer Shape
Submitted by: Glenn Ballough, Lieutenant of the Private Sector-Led Public Safety Program in MetroWest

Lerner Family Chiropractic Center hosted a community event earlier this summer called Summer Shape. The MetroWest-based doctor's office created an opportunity for members of the community to participate in a Surge Training workout alongside the CIS Public Safety Officers.

Senior Master Sergeant Mark Vest, Officer Mike Marcus, Officer Joseph Brown, Officer Eddie Barnhorst, and I joined Dr. Lerner, Dr. Rhodes, and their staff and patients for this healthy afternoon of exercise. There exercises were divided into three workout levels (beginner, intermediate, and advanced). All of the CIS officers chose to join the advanced level, being the over-achievers that we are, it was brutal!

Afterward, Dr. Lerner introduced us to community members and his peers, giving us the opportunity to discuss the MetroWest Public Safety Program with those who benefit from it first hand! We even gave a brief explanation of the program to the group and were excited to see how interested and receptive they were. Overall, the event was a great success, as many community members chose to attend and get active--even some young kids!
Does Back to School Mean Coverage Changes?
Submitted by Chief Hector Rodriguez, Commander of Uniformed Services

"It's the most wonderful time of the year!" The start of a new school year, that is. The kids are back in school, which almost certainly brings a sigh of relief to property managers, as activity drops dramatically. Now is the time to assess budgets and meet with Community Resource Officers (CROs) to evaluate your protective strategies. As always, we try to look at ways to assist in managing budgets and provide other protective options to save money, if activity allows for such modification. These savings can then be looked at for additional protection options in the summer time, where activity would most likely increase. Please do not hesitate to contact my office directly, or your CRO, to explore your options in coverage and procedures. Enjoy the new school year!
Take a Tour of the Public Safety Center
Submitted by: Chief Hector Rodriguez, Chief of Protective Services

Recently, we once again had the pleasure of touring some new Orlando clients through our Public Safety Center (the location of CIS headquarters) in Largo, Florida. The clients were able to get a behind the scenes look at our 24/7 Operations Center, meet with our department leaders (Accounting, Risk Management & Professional Standards, Human Resources, and Command Staff), as well as tour our training facility, which trains private and public sector practitioners internationally.

I highly encourage anyone that would like to tour our facilities to send me an email to setup a tour. It is very important to us that our clients fully understand the resources that are part of our service and see all of the work that goes on in the background to provide protection for clients' properties and mitigating their liabilities. These tours are truly a great experience for clients, not to mention a lot of fun! Transportation as well as lunch would be provided to any client that schedules a tour. I hope you take advantage of this opportunity and get to see why CIS is "The Critical Difference".
