Parallel with the convention, thousands of political activists will also descend on Tampa in protest of the RNC. For over a year now, Federal, State and Local authorities have been preparing an intensive plan to facilitate security of the convention and public safety while respecting the rights of activists to publicly protest. Although authorities are making every effort to minimize negative effect on Tampa Bay businesses, major impact in the surrounding area is inevitable in the wake of expertly securing such a large-scale event.
